Volunteer Domestic Violence Court Liaison for Abuser Accountability

Volunteer Domestic Violence Court Liaisons for Abuser Accountability (VDVCAA) ensure that defendants sentenced to court-mandated programs get quickly enrolled into Pathways Partner Abuse Intervention Program (NC Council for Women certified), Anger Management, or Strong Fathers programs.  Advocates are trained to work in partnership with victim advocates to protect the safety of victims and hold abusers accountable for their actions by facilitating the process of immediate enrollment into programs that re-educate about cognitive behavior and healthy relationships.  Advocates attend Domestic Violence Court in either Chatham, Durham and Orange Counties, informing judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys and other court personnel about the availability of Pathway services.

Other volunteer positions are available. Are you a natural leader? Good with groups? Volunteer as a facilitator of one of our Partner Abuse Intervention, Anger Management, or Strong Fathers groups. Volunteer facilitators receive extensive training and facilitate groups alongside an experienced Pathways facilitator.

Are you an organizational whiz? Volunteer to scan and organize files, answer phones and schedule appointments, or make copies and send mailings.
